About the Role
Spiegelworld is looking for an experienced Pastry Cook to join our newest venture, Diner Ross at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Pasty Cook is responsible for executing on a world class menu to create a dining experience that guests will savor long after they have taken their last bite. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and personal standards and ability to work independently, as well as with a team. Ultimately, you will ensure we provide an excellent guest experience by preparing polished yet unpretentious dishes, and delivering them consistently.The pay for this position is $22.17/hr.
Responsibilities
  • Set up a work station according to bakery-pastry shop guidelines.
  • Prepares all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the bakery-pastry shop management.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, practices good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
  • Have an understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
  • Understanding of food allergies and how to prevent cross contamination for the safety of all our guests
  • Performs additional responsibilities, as requested by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef at any time.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Required:
  • At least two years experience in a professional, high volume kitchen environment required with a focus on pastry.
  • Ability to read recipes, use a scale properly, mix and bake a variety of items.
  • Able to take direction.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem solving abilities and be self-motivated and organized.
  • Possess a commitment to quality service.
  • Knowledge of basic food and beverage concepts.
  • Creative
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Participate and pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
Preferred:
  • Completed formal culinary training or apprenticeship.
  • Serve Safe Certification for Food Handling.
  • Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice/ theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours and ability to climb statues between levels in venue
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
