The Patient Advocate will assist in scheduling the necessary medical care and ensure the organization will be compensated for the medical care for injured patients. The Patient Advocate will communicate with the patient to remove any barriers that would prohibit the patient from being treated. The Patient Advocate will communicate with the referral sources to relay current information regarding the patient’s treatment.

Requirements:
Ability to communicate professionally with referral sources, patients, and staff.
Reliable transportation
Must be available to work Monday – Friday (8am to 5pm)
Responsibilities/Duties:
Patient contact
· Attorney communication
· Coordination of outbound referrals
· Provide case status and balance to attorneys
· Preparation of cost estimates to patients
Preferred Skills:
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Critical thinking
· Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro
· Basic office equipment knowledge
· Ability to quickly adapt to modifications in process and procedures.
· Ability to concisely communicate information in a timely manner
· Must be a self-starter.
· Must be able to take the initiative when necessary.
· Ability to maintain a high quality of work product in high pressure/high volume situations.
· Prior plaintiff personal injury pre-litigation experience
· Experience with Smartsheet
· Experience with EMR/HER systems
· Bilingual (Spanish) speaking, reading, writing preferred
Education/Training/Experience
· High school diploma/GED required
· 1 years personal injury experience preferred
· HIPAA compliance training required (will provide)
· Notary preferred
