Safety Responsibility and Duties

  • Ability to develop and implement Safety Action Plan to focus on preventing all accidents, incidents, and damages.
  • Ability to develop and implement Job Specific Health and Safety Plans as required for the various job sites.
  • Oversee the Daily Submission of all JHA’s from all crews within the region confirming they are being completed timely and accurately.
  • Track and review all accidents, incidents, and damages including providing root cause analysis as well implementing safeguards if needed to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
  • Identify Trends or Behaviors which may lead to accidents, incidents, or damages, and determine what safeguards or training can be implemented to further prevent them from potentially occurring.
  • Ability to manage safety staff and communicate effectively with the area manager. The right candidate will be responsible for coaching and training staff in adhering to the company safety policies.
  • Ability to oversee activities on specified job locations to ensure all operations are always performed in a safe manner to OSHA and Company policy and regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring work crews follow all customer and environmental requirements.
  • Responsible for the daily submission of safety reports
  • Provide solutions to issues that arise on ongoing basis and communicate them to the Project or Safety Director
  • Maintain and provide all required documentation as requested.
  • Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Individuals are required to report any behaviors on the job that would negatively impact the safety, deadline, budget or reputation of Spiniello Companies or its clients/project owners.
  • Must be able to effectively address any unsafe condition or action and provide immediate instruction to remedy the situation.
  • Conduct safety meetings as needed, oversee daily and weekly safety meetings are being conducted.
  • Assist in the completion of accident/injury reports as needed.
  • Ensure the Company Inspection program is OSHA compliant and update as needed to ensure compliance.
  • Administer random drug testing as part of post-accident policy.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • OSHA 500 or 510, 502 within 5 years.
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • CHST certification is required.
  • Fluent Spanish speaker is a plus.
  • Work effectively with customers, union employees and internal Project Management team to always represent Spiniello in a professional manner.
  • Excellent communication skills with external and internal constituents
  • Strong, honest work ethic
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Must travel as needed for Accident Response purposes or as needed, which includes extended overnight stays per job requirements, 20%
  • HS Diploma required; 5 years of prior experience in construction.
  • Able to complete additional training as necessary.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, skills and able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company and vendors.
  • Able to develop and train employees.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, interpersonal skills
  • In-depth understanding of departmental procedures and policies; able to actively discover new ways to do the job more efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast paced, changing work environment.

Salary : $90 - $105
