Description

Title: Front Desk Lead

Reports to: Patient Access Manager

Location – Onsite Danbury, CT

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

What you’ll do: In addition to FD Responsibilities below, the Front Desk Team Lead is separately responsible for:

 Intricately learn and maintain up-to-date status of all FD check-in and check-out process and functions.

.Maintain and facilitate throughput of patient registration from waiting room to exam room.

 Utilize staff resources for best patient experience.

 Responsible for training and developing new associates regarding front desk function.

Act as first point of contact for patient concerns; utilize customer service skillset and de-escalate patient and staff issues as required.

 Run reports regarding balance sheets and registration errors; address staff as necessary.

 Provide documentation to management regarding staff onboarding and training.

 Escalate issues as necessary to management as necessary.

 Act as interdepartmental liaison between MA staff, X-ray, as well as other groups for best patient experience and practices.

 Accept other duties as assigned by Operational Management.

Responsibilities/Duties:

 Greets and registers patients in a prompt and pleasant manner.

 Instructs patients to complete registration, history and HIPAA acknowledgement forms.

 Requests updates on established patients.

 Collects and enters all insurance referrals.

 Makes copies of patient forms and insurance cards.

 Enters all demographic information and off-bill comments into billing system.

 Calls insurance carriers and patients for follow-up information to complete registration as needed.

 Has knowledge of different insurance carriers and plan types.

 Instructs patients about referral and payment process as needed.

 Notifies other departments of patient arrival.

 Pulls and files patient encounters.

 Schedules and re-schedules appointments for patients.

 Ability to process collections

 Takes messages and responds to requests.

 Performs Expeditor and Appointment Scheduler duties as needed.

 Ensures all HIPAA regulations are adhered to.

 Follows ONS’ policies and procedures.

 Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Who you are:

Qualifications:

 High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 Minimum one year experience as registrar, clerical associate, or similar function required.

 Specialist office experience preferred.

 Experience in navigating an EMR/PM, Microsoft office, and other daily utilized systems.

 Must be detail-oriented and accurate.

 Ability to work well under pressure.

 Ability to lead a team of professionals

 Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

 Bi-Lingual Spanish/English required.

 Healthcare industry knowledge helpful.
