Splendora Independent School District Job Title: Education Foundation Coordinator

Primary PurposeResponsible for accomplishing the Foundation’s mission, including development and community relations goals and to generate enthusiasm in the community for supporting education in the Splendora ISD through the Education Foundation. This is accomplished through the following actions and responsibilities. Support the Human Resources Department as needed.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, as well as public speaking
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in the community
  • Ability to complete detail oriented tasks that are accessible by the public, such as budgets, allocations, donor information, grant award documentation, publications, videos, annual report, and other tasks
  • Proficiency in computer and technology related tasks, including utilizing software required for the job.
  • Coordinate all facets of Education Foundation activities with businesses in the community, the School District, and with the Education Foundation Board of Directors
Major Responsibilities And Duties
  • Facilitate Foundation fundraising. Identify and develop new sources of funds.
  • Write and submit grants and endowment requests for funds to support Foundation and district programs.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to develop the Foundation’s short and long-term goals, strategy development, budget planning and management.
  • Manage all aspects of relationship building, long-range development and solicitation of potential donors/selected prospects to ensure a growing donor base. Help plan fund development programs in the areas of annual giving campaigns, corporate giving and event-based programs.
  • Plan and direct the implementation of the Foundation’s internal and external public relations program with the direct input of Marketing Committee members and the SISD communication department, including working with the news media to cover Foundation events and activities.
  • Track, measure and report on fundraising results and accomplishments to event committee heads and/or report at Foundation board meetings. Create and present the Annual Report.
  • Meet with the Executive Committee and other sub-committees to define and track assigned tasks and progress.
  • Develop and maintain all Foundation records and materials including mailing lists, correspondence, donor information, board member involvement and service.
  • Establish partnerships between the Splendora Independent School District and the Splendora Education Foundation.
  • Maintain files and records of Foundation that include current records of Foundation business as stipulated in the Bylaws.
  • Prepare Foundation Board Agenda and email to Board Members.
  • Prepare Foundation Agenda packet for monthly meetings, including a list of contributions since the last Board Meeting.
  • Prepare deposits for appropriate accounts and work with the Foundation’s Treasurer for recordkeeping. Maintain a database of deposits.
  • Distribute Foundation grant applications to webmaster and to campuses, if applicable.
  • Prepare letters and checks for recipients.
  • Maintain all Foundation files.
  • Keep Superintendent and CAO informed of SEF monthly activities, prior to Executive Committee Meetings.
  • Represent the District, the Superintendent, and the Foundation in a manner which builds goodwill toward the district, the Foundation, and the community
  • Work with Human Resources on the recruitment, retention, and retainment of staff.
  • Be an ambassador for the foundation and school district.
  • Regular and reliable prompt in person attendance required.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
