Spokane Club is Hiring a Sports Club Attendant Near Spokane, WA

Responsible for monitoring traffic flow into facility, handling all court reservations, cash and charge transactions, answering phones and transferring calls to appropriate department, taking accurate messages, and distributing necessary Club related information. Provide our members with friendly and prompt service preparing quality beverages and deli food in an upbeat and enthusiastic manner. Keeping food-service equipment and seating area clean and tidy. Responsible for operation of the Conditioning Room and for attending the members and guests needs with a high level of customer service at all times. Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business. Looking for someone with flexibility to work when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be courteous, professional, pleasing and helpful to all members and their guests, in person and on the phone.
  • Check for proper member identification on computer, check current status of each member as they enter the facility.
  • Process correctly all transaction cash and charge.
  • Accountable for balancing registers at shifts end.
  • Accurately reserve courts as per time and availability.
  • Issue and take collateral for daily use lockers and other day use equipment.
  • Stock Sport Shop and display areas as needed. Report any low merchandise to immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the Sport Shop, storage and immediate lobby area.
  • Relay information (complaints, problems, accident reports, etc.) to supervisor.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required
  • Oversee and document problems in equipment and Conditioning Room facilities.
  • Orient new members to proper use of equipment.
  • Offer workout corrections to members and spot any members as needed.
  • Continually clean up the free weight room by placing weights on racks.
  • Clean all equipment throughout shift and keep in proper place.
  • Enforcement of staff and Conditioning Room policies and procedures.
  • Work as required including holidays and weekends if necessary.
  • Maintain and be knowledgeable of member incentive programs as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
  • Stock and maintain product in coolers and other storage areas.
  • Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote deli sales. Keep menu board updated with current menu items.
  • Take food and beverage orders, prepare as needed; wrap or bag merchandise for members as required.
  • Accept payment and make change or obtain member's account number for billing.
  • Keep the Deli areas clean and orderly
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor bringing to her/his attention items of concern or questions.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the Club's needs.
Benefits
Full-time employees and, optionally for additional cost, their families are able to enroll for coverage by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan after one year.
Full-time employees will also accrue vacation based on hours work to a maximum of ten days per year and six paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Job Requirements

  • 18 year of age or older, 21 preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude; takes pride and ownership in job
  • Customer-service orientation to create an atmosphere of genuine care for members and guests and to provide a high level of personalized service.
  • Neat appearance at all times
  • CPR certification (will train after hire); food handlers permit and MAST (alcohol permit) within 10 days of hire
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Practical experience in exercise procedures, lifting techniques and supervision of exercisers; working knowledge of aerobic and free weight equipment.
  • Ability to think and act quickly, problem solve, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional, helpful, and poised demeanor.
  • Completed classes in weight training, fitness, safety or equivalent.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably with cash and credit transactions
  • Basic food-service prep experience and prior barista experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as department manual
  • Ability to speak effectively with members and deliver a high level of customer service
