Description
Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring a strong level of knowledge on office routine, bookkeeping principals and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office and budgets. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the site and administrative staff. Works independently, receiving minimum supervision and guidance.

SALARY: Level 8 on the Secretarial/Clerical Salary Schedule. Experience increments depends on experience in the same or similar permanent position within a Washington State public school. Click here to view current salary schedule for this position.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in the operation of administrative and student offices in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
2. Provide administrative support and oversee the efficient operation of business office. Duties may include accounts payable/receivable operations, active collections, ordering materials and supplies, sales assistance, tracking of gifts and scholarship monies, property transfer requests, answering phone inquiries, and distribution of student/staff parking passes.
3. Receives monies collected at site, maintain records and perform deposits.
4. Assist in monitoring the Associated Student Body (ASB) budget, this includes allocation, distribution, tracking expenditures and reporting.
5. Assist the Principal in monitoring the site budget and certificated discretionary allocations, this includes distribution, tracking expenditures and reporting.
6. Coordinate vendor orders, including inquiries, costing, ordering, receiving, and inventory.
7. Coordinate all site related business and financial matters involving the Greater Spokane League (GSL), summer camps and summer school program, including facilitating transportation, coordinating logistics for athletic event gate sales, sport pass sales, and summer camp payments.
8. Maintain accurate and complete inventory of site assets.
9. Assist with minor medical injuries, illnesses and may administer medication for students.
10. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of college with emphasis on bookkeeping or accounting courses preferred.
2. Minimum three years secretarial work experience required, two years of school district or bookkeeping experience preferred.
3. Ability to accurately type 50 words per minute.
4. Intermediate level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, spreadsheet programs, financial software (i.e., Intouch), single point of entry software, and student information system (i.e., PowerSchool) experience preferred.
5. Demonstrated accuracy in record keeping skills including use of ten-key and cash handling.
6. First Aid card preferred.
