Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino is Hiring a Beverage Manager Near Airway Heights, WA

Position SummaryThe incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the beverage operation for the Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino, including casino and restaurant bars, service bars, and cocktail service to ensure profitable operation and the achievement of customer service goals. The Beverage Manager will be responsible for ensuring all Beverage Team Members (Bartenders and Floor Servers) are working toward our Mission Statement of delivering exceptional guest service.
Job Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, motivate, evaluate, and manage beverage and related management staff in order to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives. Be liquor Board certified as trainer.
  • Ensure that exemplary guest service standards are maintained by all levels of staff to ensure guests are receiving the best possible experience.
  • Monitor daily scheduling process to ensure appropriate staffing levels to maintain guest service levels and profit goals.
  • Responsible for holding team to maintain required levels of sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of work areas.
  • Responsible for all beer, liquor and wine inventories and purchasing.
  • Monitor and evaluate all department daily activities in order to ensure the successful day-to-day management of all beverage and related operations.
  • Establish department standards, guidelines, and objectives and maintain other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of beverage and related functions.
  • Evaluate the performance of beverage outlets by measuring guest satisfaction, volume, revenue, and cost in order to implement necessary changes to allow the most successful operation of services and fulfillment of company objectives.
  • Advise organization in beverage-related issues, such as the planning of special events, in order to provide the expertise needed for successful implementation of plans.
  • Perform Manager on Duty role when needed, assisting in management decisions in the Casino.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions And Physical RequirementsMust have ability to:
  • Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends on customer volume.
  • Observe and direct actions of subordinates.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees as well as customers.
  • Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to move throughout the Casino effectively and efficiently.
  • May be required to do occasional lifting when dealing with stock and inventory.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
Job Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent, with business related college courses preferred.
  • Five years of beverage operations background in a multi-outlet or casino environment with at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of gaming industry and strong public relations skills required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, Colleagues and Management.
  • Must be able to efficiently use a computer and the MS Office suite to include: Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Must be willing to teach, encourage, train and mentor our Spokane Tribal Members.
  • Must be able to handle cash accurately.
  • Must be familiar with food, beverage, and wine service.
  • Must be experienced with responsible alcohol service and awareness.
Regulatory And Compliance ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the other duties described herein, each and every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class C Gaming License through the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Must have a MAST Liquor permit as well as a Food Handlers Card.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department, especially the WA State liquor laws in place and Health Codes.
  • Have knowledge of the State's programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consults with the appropriate individuals and maintain and effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission and Minimum Internal Control Standards.
  • Takes the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of.
