Job Summary:
The Title I Behavior Interventionist works collaboratively with a student's educational team and parents to develop and implement behavior intervention strategies for the classroom, school environment and home setting to overcome behavior related limitations and support the student's ability to achieve academic success.
Essential Functions:

• Actively engages with students whose behavior disrupts or limits their ability to participate in the educational environment.
• Tailors behavior intervention strategies to meet the needs of individual students; monitors student's progress and adapts strategies as needed.
• Reacts appropriately to escalated behavior and quickly identifies and administers required intervention(s).
• Supports behavior intervention through data driven intervention methods including Check In/Check Out (CICO), small group and 1v1 support.
• Collaborates with teachers and parents to develop behavior intervention strategies unique to the student; engages parents to become active participants in behavior intervention strategies and encourages their use within the home.
• Models appropriate behavior to the student population; serves as a role model and resource to students.
• Establishes and maintains standards of responsibility and cooperative student behaviors; monitors student behavioral progress in all educational settings.
• Stays abreast on new and emerging behavior intervention methodologies and best practices.
• Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Required

• Five (5) years of successful experience working with "at risk" and/or "behaviorally challenged" children in a role that required behavior intervention and/or behavior coaching

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional or Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
• Prior experience working within a public school system

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (200 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
