Overview We are currently seeking a Scrum Master to provide support for a client in the federal government in Washington, DC. The work is on-site in Washington, DC up to 3 days per week.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ensure analysts, testers, developers, designers, and security engineers work together as one team to deliver new functionality frequently
Help Product Owners as they create their Product Backlog and layout their releases
Facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
Work with team to radiate information to stakeholders and leadership
Recognize, raise, and remove impediments that would prevent the team from achieving their goals
Teach and support teams and individuals to be autonomous within the given boundaries of their organizations and its processes
Mediate team conflicts, help them make decisions, and foster their self-organization
Solve problems, bring disagreements into the open, and enable a collaborative solution
Encourage teams to leverage open-source frameworks, libraries, and other software to enable the use of the right tool for the job
Occasionally perform business analysis or requirements gathering (discovery, needs assessment, root cause analysis, user story and acceptance criteria writing, etc)
Required Skills and Qualifications
3 years of experience working with Agile teams, managing backlogs and helping teams succeed in the Scrum framework
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for collaborating with clients
Education/ Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science is required
