Springfield Public Schools is Hiring a High School Spring Coaching Positions for John J. Duggan Academy Near Springfield, MA

ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS AND FUNDING.
POSITIONS WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THEY ARE FILLED.
SALARY:
Salaries are listed as Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3. A person will be paid at Step 1 during the first year that he/she supervised the activity. During the second year that he/she supervised the activity, he/she will be on
Step 2. Beginning the third year, he/she will be on Step 3.
SALARIES BASED ON PRESENT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT

in the position in the past.

JOHN J DUGGAN ACADEMY (SPRING) STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3
BASEBALL, HEAD COACH $2,883.00 $3,128.00 $3,499.00
VOLLEYBALL, HEAD COACH 2,883.00 3,128.00 3,499.00
DUTIES:
- Oversee sport and travel program
- Select team for travel season
- Develop daily practice schedule
- Supervise students at all times
- Check on eligibility of all athletes
- Check attendance daily
- Establish rules and expectations for athletes
- Supervise students to away games on bus
- Issue equipment and collect it at the end of the season
- Secure building permits
- Be aware of MSSADA Rules and Regulations
- CPR Training and completion of the "Concussion in Sports" course is
required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of sport or activity
  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to successfully instruct and encourage athletes
  • CPR/First Aid and Coaches Education and Concussion certified are requirements for all coaching candidates
