Springfield Public Schools is Hiring a Senior Clerk Near Springfield, MA

Duties
  • Performs word processing, typing and proofreading of letters, documents and memorandums of more than average difficulty from clear copy, rough draft, recording machines or data personally developed.
  • Welcomes visitors, responds to their inquiry and/or directs them to the appropriate person.
  • Operates copying machines to duplicate various forms, bulletins and notices.
  • Organizes and maintains office files.
  • Maintains inventories of books, supplies and materials used in the school and prepares requisitions for new material as required.
  • Answers the telephone and performs any other tasks as directed by the Principal.
Qualifications
  • Civil Service eligibility.
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • High School Graduate.
  • Knowledge of standard alphabetic and numeric filing system.
  • Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes, and symbols and file material according to established procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to type, word process and proofread letters and documents of average difficulty.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with supervision.
  • Willingness to work on the schedule that coincides with the hours of the school assigned. 10. Must be a resident of Springfield
