Additional Job Details And Special ConsiderationsThis Software Developer 3 contractor position is part of the WIC Applications team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing programs to support WIC's transition from an EBT offline system to an EBT online system. You will collaborate with the WIC IT Applications team and two vendors to deploy workarounds during this transition and move data between multiple systems. The role includes performing Software Application Developer duties in the following technical areas: Microsoft Azure, Data Factory, Data Lakehouse on Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server, and Power BI reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement, and manage software programs.
- Test and evaluate new programs.
- Collaborate with developers, UX designers, business analysts, and systems analysts.
- Deploy workarounds and move data between multiple systems.
- Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) in Microsoft Azure or other cloud hosting environments.
- Ability to design and develop Power BI reports.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions with multiple projects and deadlines.
- 8yrs - Required - Work experience as a Software Engineer or Application Developer.
- 5yrs - Required - Experience developing in C# and Visual Studio.
- 5yrs - Preferred - Experience with SQL scripting, SQL syntax, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL programming in Microsoft SQL Server.
- 3yrs - Preferred - Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels of an organization.
- 3yrs - Preferred - Good teamwork skills, and ability to collaborate with other functional and technical staff on the project.
- 3yrs - Preferred - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on cross-functional teams.
- 1yrs - Preferred - Experience working with Data Factory and Data Lakehouse on Databricks.
- Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Agency. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., excluding Texas state holidays when the agency is closed.
- The primary work location will be 4616 W. Howard Lane, Building 2, Suite 275, Austin, Texas 78728.
- Position will be remote. Program will allow candidates who are within the state (Any location within the State of Texas).
