SPS Commerce is Hiring a Director Retail Sales Near Minneapolis, MN

Description

As SPS Commerce continues to grow, so does our leadership team. We are currently hiring a Director, Sales for Retail Enterprise Team. In this role you will lead multiple regions enabling them to hit planned goals and objectives. As a leader, they are responsible to develop and mentor individuals under their supervision and to create and foster a positive and motivating team environment by modeling the SPS values. This position will set clear expectations and maximize resources to drive results. In addition, this role will chart the future through strong collaboration and relationships across many SPS Departments, building alignment to create scalable and maintainable practices to accelerate growth. This role will also work to maintain alignment with Marketing, Customer Success, and senior management teams to ensure sales campaigns are executed effectively.

Day to day

  • Has overall responsibility and accountability for sales revenue within the region. Ensures all reporting teams meet KPI targets set by the business including sales targets, growth, and expense management to align with established efficiency targets. This also includes developing, coordinating and execution of sales objectives, strategies, and advertising and promotional programs to gain market share.
  • Acts as a resource to employees providing coaching, training, and development guidance. Establishes a culture of collaboration, motivation, and positive engagement within the local sales organization. Identifies and hires appropriate talent and minimizes turnover within an acceptable level.
  • Drive key sales strategies of projects or events within the team, within Sales, and/or across multiple business units
  • Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns.
  • Establishes key account relationships and ensures they are managed properly.
  • Negotiates contracts in accordance with company standards and business requirements.
  • Contributes to the overall short- and long-range planning process and in the establishment and assessment of the organization's annual operating budget. Oversees and approves budget planning and sales forecasting and prepares other reports for management as requested.
  • Collaborate with leaders from other divisions to create and optimize sales and sales engineering methodologies and procedures. Works in conjunction with and ensures strong support for sales administration, product development, marketing communications, and market research.
  • Coordinates needed support to operations areas through intradepartmental interface for smooth workflow and successful service delivery to customers.

Must haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the professional equivalent PLUS at least 12 years directly related professional experience, with at least 5 years managerial responsibility
  • Experience managing a team of reporting staff more than 20 individuals
  • Proven success consistently delivering and exceeding KPIs
  • Experience managing high-volume sales portfolios, external clients, and partners
  • Excellent organization, time management, communication skills and attention to details

Nice to haves

  • Experience with B2B SaaS based delivery models
  • Experience working in the retail industry

** Note: USA travel up to 25% of the time at customer and prospect locations**
