SPUDNIK EQUIPMENT COMPANY LLC is Hiring a Parts Sales Manager Near Presque Isle, ME

Job Summary

The Parts Sales Manager at Spudnik Equipment Company is responsible for directing, coordinating, developing, and promoting parts sales activities with customers, dealers, and vendors. The Manager is responsible for implementing marketing strategies, increasing customer base, improving procedures, and coordinating with Spudnik Management and Outside Shops to maximize profits and inventory turns. The Manager oversees personnel management, allocation of resources, and project management; establishes quality control standards; develops and achieves departmental and organizational goals; and actively engages in the expansion of product offerings and the development of new lines of business. Teamwork and customer service skills are critical as the Manager works directly and indirectly with employees, managers, supervisors, customers, dealers, and outside vendors. The Manager will consistently demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

  • Develop personnel through use of hiring, training, performance management, coaching, mentoring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and similar personnel management activities;
  • Cultivate long-lasting relationships with existing and new customers, dealers, and vendors;
  • Establish and implement ideas to increase customer base and sales margins;
  • Expand and improve sales network by attending conferences, agricultural shows, conventions, etc.;
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism toward all internal and external customers;
  • Be a top performer and role model in leadership, safety, and work ethics;
  • Document, track, analyze, and report on data such as customer locations, customer operations, market trends, and competitor pricing and activities;
  • Coordinate with Director to establish, implement, and track budgets and the use of available resources;
  • Prepare specific sales forecasts as required, manage inventory and pricing lists on a daily basis, and set appropriate levels of safety stock;
  • Set and attain goals agreed upon by Management in obtaining higher margins, expanding customer base, inventory turns, etc.;
  • Work closely with Spudnik Management on areas regarding suggestions for new product offerings, ideas for lowering cost, managing inventory on-hand and on-order, vendor identification and management, etc.;
  • Conduct regular visits and inspections of Outside Shops and dealers.

  • Work in a team environment with little or no supervision;
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment;
  • Fill in during team member absences;
  • Promote the company’s core values; integrity, respect, commitment, quality, innovation.


Qualifications

  • Four year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in agricultural industry with experience in potato industry preferred;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing/leading 2 or more employees including hiring, coaching, disciplinary, and termination activities;
  • Commitment to excellent customer service for internal and external customers;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid Class A Commercial driver’s license, DOT medical card, and insurability under Spudnik’s automotive insurance policy;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid passport;
  • Ability to calculate, analyze, and track figures and competently make decisions based on those figures;
  • Ability to successfully manage, prioritize, and organize multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments;
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate in groups or one-on-one settings;
  • Ability to effectively work with ERP system, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.


Machines and Equipment Typically Operated

  • Basic clerical machines including computer, tablet, printer, adding machine, telephone, cellular phone, fax, etc.;
  • Lift trucks, industrial powered trucks, and pickup trucks;
  • Other machines or equipment specific to departmental or facility needs.

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • Activities occur both in and outside the facility with a variety of physical and environmental conditions such as sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Subject to temperatures below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees and a variety of weather conditions for periods of more than one hour. One or more of the following conditions affect the respiratory system or the skin, fumes, odors, dusts mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
