The Technical Trainer will need to relocate to Blackfoot, Idaho for onsite work and responsibilities.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Trainer at Spudnik Equipment Company is responsible for providing comprehensive technical training and product support to employees, customers, vendors, and dealers. This role involves designing, maintaining, and implementing the methods and curriculum of the Spudnik Training Program for Spudnik and Dealer Service Technicians. Teamwork and customer service skills are essential as the Trainer works with employees, managers, supervisors, customers, dealers, and outside vendors. The position requires travel up to 20% annually and demands a high level of responsibility and accountability

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-quality technical training from the Spudnik Training Program to Service Technicians, Sales Consultants, and Customers.
  • Develop training modules for the setup, troubleshooting, and operation of each Spudnik model, covering Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical (1.5 – 24VDC to 110-600 VAC) functions.
  • Develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness of individual training sessions and the overall training program.
  • Work with Service Managers to create proficiency levels that align with the Service and Repair Department’s expectations for Technicians.
  • Maintain a database of technical documentation, training materials, troubleshooting guides, and issue resolution information accessible to Spudnik and Dealer Service Technicians.
  • Respond to technical support inquiries regarding setup, operation, and troubleshooting, providing timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to address known issues from previous seasons, create effective resolutions, and identify potential training needs.
  • Develop clear billing expectations for training costs for Dealers and Customers.
  • Create a marketing strategy for the Spudnik Training Program targeting Spudnik and Dealer Service Technicians, as well as Customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the agricultural industry preferred; preferably experience in the potato industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, agricultural, or similar engineering field, or a degree in diesel, hydraulic, or electrical technology with three to five years of related experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in training or teaching groups/individuals preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to analyze figures and make decisions based on data.
  • Proven ability to manage, prioritize, and organize multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks independently or in a team setting.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively in groups or one-on-one settings.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other relevant computer software.
