POSITION: Accounting Intern

LOCATION: Blackfoot, Idaho

JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Intern is responsible for general accounting duties including account reconciliation, tax preparation and payments, bank deposits, compiling reports and statistical data as needed. The Intern will assist with other department activities as needed including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, Sales Support, filing, and receptionist functions. The Intern will consistently demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability, working in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist in the taking and reconciliation of periodic physical inventories at all Spudnik locations;
• Assist in the yearly audit. Pull paperwork, create/update reports, and communicate professionally with auditors;
• Assist in the design and implementation of effective cost reporting systems to facilitate the making of informed management decisions;
• Provide ad hoc reports using Crystal Reporting or Microsoft Query on an as needed basis;
• Review monthly inventory reports to determine unusual trends in inventory value by locations;
• Assist with reconciliation of company financial records and accounts;
• Perform periodic reconciliation of all general ledger asset and liability accounts, including the subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger;
• Assist in all duties of monthly closing in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform analysis on company credit card spending

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have successfully completed 300 level Accounting Courses;
• Experience or education with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
• Experience or education in data extraction tools such as Crystal Reporting, Microsoft Access, or Microsoft Query helpful, but training will be provided;
• Experience with VBA helpful;
• Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, critical thinking, and analytical skills;
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

PAY: $15.00/hour, up to 40 hours per week
