The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites by Hilton, located in Downtown Cincinnati, is currently hiring for a full-time Floor Technician. The hours for this position are 7am-3pm; weekday and weekend availability is required.

Position Summary: The Floor Technician cleans and maintains various flooring surfaces throughout the hotel including carpets, tile, and other types of hard surface flooring.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains floor surfaces and stairwells
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, polishes, scrubs, strips and refinishes hard-surface floors
• Vacuums, spot cleans, and extracts carpeted floor surfaces
• Cleans elevators, change out elevator mats, remove fingerprints from elevator walls, etc.
• Notifies supervisor concerning any need for any maintenance repairs or additions observed
• Performs routine operational maintenance of cleaning equipment per manufacturer specifications
• Cleans and maintains baseboards and cove base molding
• Mixes and uses chemicals in a safe and controlled manner following all established rules and guidelines
• Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• May assist in inventorying floor care products

Requirements

• Previous experience in cleaning and maintaining floor coverings such as carpet, tile, marble, vinyl is preferred
• Operational knowledge of all floor equipment to include vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, carpet extractor, etc.
• Operational knowledge of all floor chemicals

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, kneel, bend and crawl, squat and crouch, and tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
