The Center for Health Sciences is looking for summer Interns to work on various projects in the lab. The projects will include the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study, which is an NIH-sponsored multi-site nationwide study following 10,000 children for 10 years. It is the largest study to date to examine factors (e.g., sleep, physical activity, stress, trauma, substance use) that influence child and adolescent neurodevelopment. The internship may also include other studies such as the National Consortium on Alcohol and Neurodevelopment in Adolescence to Adulthood (NCANDA-A).
The Interns will work on-site at our Menlo Park office. The schedule is flexible per week, the expectation is part time hours.
ResponsibilitiesIf you’re looking to get experience in a lab conducting cutting-edge research, apply here! Interns working on projects in the lab will get experience with clinical interviews, neuropsychological and cognitive testing, collecting bioassays (e.g., hormone levels, DNA samples), and multi-modal MRI scans, and assisting in data collection and other aspects of the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development (ABCD) study.
Qualifications

• Must be available to work some evenings (typically 4:00-8:00pm) and/or weekends during the day (Saturdays or Sundays, when we run participants through the research protocol).
• Currently enrolled in a degree program such as psychology, neuroscience, or a related degree
• Interest in adolescent or child development, neuropsychology, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), sleep, substance use
• Energetic personality; enjoys working with teens (16-18 year olds)
• Experience working with kids (e.g. babysitting, summer camps) or prior human subjects research is an advantage
• Detail-oriented, quick learner who pays attention to detail and has good organization skills

The salary range is: $16.70-$34.80/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
