Phlebotomist

Location: Hiring for 3 locations (Fairfield, Vallejo and Martinez, California)

Job Type: Part Time

Responsibilities: Included but not limited to

• Verify patient identified by confirming two (2) patient identifiers, per VA policy (patient name, date of birth and/or social security number) prior to accepting or collecting specimens for processing or testing performing.
• Differences in patient identification will be reconciled and corrected before drawing blood or accepting patient samples
• Perform venipuncture by following published Laboratory procedures
• Collect adequate and properly labeled specimens
• Properly determine current clinician orders in the computer, per laboratory procedures
• Perform waived and/or non-waived testing
• Process specimens for testing and/pr shipment to another laboratory for testing
• Make contacts with patients, relatives, staff members, and co-workers in a concerned, compassionate, and helpful manner.
• Promote a harmonious and cooperative working environment in their interaction with workers and supervisors

Requirement and Experience

• 1 year of experience in a clinic or Hospital setting
• Current California Certified Phlebotomy Tech Certification
