We are seeking experienced in-house counsel to join our fast-growing legal team. Background in litigation, particularly insurance defense, is preferred. This position reports to the General Counsel.

About us: SRM Concrete is a family-owned and operated company providing ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and construction-related products and services in 19 states. We are the largest privately held ready-mix concrete provider in the country. Based out of our home office in Smyrna, Tennessee, our legal department oversees a wide range of legal matters for SRM Concrete and other ancillary businesses, including overseeing all litigation, consultation on labor matters, contract preparation and review, and oversight of mergers and acquisitions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage lawsuits and related legal actions
• Provide legal counsel to internal teams regarding litigation strategies and risk management.
• Draft, assess, analyze, negotiate, and finalize contracts and agreements.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) required
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state (preferably Tennessee)
• Preferred candidates will have at least 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, at a highly respected law firm, in-house corporate environment, and/or government service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess strong judgment, confidence, collaborative problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify potential issues quickly
