The Security Guard maintains a safe and secure terminal environment for customers and employees by patrolling the premises and monitoring personnel.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensure and maintains the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
• Ensures and maintains a drug and alcohol-free work environment.
• Maintains an in-and-out log of all trucks.
• Verifies all paperwork prior to departure of trucks.
• Takes notes of any suspicious or unusual occurrence and reports any suspicious incidents in detail to manager and/or port police.
• Adheres to all company service and operating standards.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Valid Driver's License and CPR certificate required.
• Thorough knowledge or principles of terminal operations preferred.
• Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations.
• TWIC card required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Work environment:

• Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings and nights.
• Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise.
• The ability to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment
