SSFAQ is Hiring an Assistant Shop Manager Near Uniontown, OH

Family owned, growing sewing and needlework business seeking a full-time assistant manager in our retail store. Full-time, Tuesday through Saturday. Salaried position.

Our employees are the face of the Sue Spargo company, and we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service. We believe that building personal relationships with customers keeps them coming back time and time again. As our assistant shop manager, you will oversee our small team of associates as they suggest and up-sell products according to customer needs, restock, organize, clean, and keep the store looking its best. This position is great for someone with some retail management experience and a willingness to learn.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and collaborate with the manager to ensure adequate supply levels to meet customer demand.
  • Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Analyze sales trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to optimize performance.
  • Set and maintain high standards for productivity and efficiency among team members, leading by example with a strong work ethic.
  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to sales associates, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Assist in training new hires on store policies, procedures, and product knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in retail management, preferably in a fabric or crafting supplies store.
  • Strong passion for and knowledge of fabric and quilting products, techniques, and trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems and basic computer skills.
