SSi People is Hiring an Assistant/Associate Scientist Near Summit, NJ
Job Title: Assistant/Associate ScientistLocation: Summit, NJ (100% Onsite)Join our Biologics Downstream Development team in Summit, NJ as an Assistant/Associate Scientist. You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for the development of our client’s growing biologics pipeline. Your focus will be on creating efficient, robust, and scalable purification processes for therapeutic biologics, with a particular emphasis on chromatography and filtration unit operations.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory experiments involving filtration and chromatography process development using AKTA-Unicorn chromatography systems.
- Involve in downstream process development, optimization, characterization, and tech transfer.
- Assist in process scale-up activities in the pilot plant, clinical and commercial manufacturing sites.
- Prepare and review technical documents including development/tech transfer reports and CMC regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate on cross-functional teams to progress both early and late-stage drug candidates.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate and implement innovative next generation technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related biologics fields.
- 0 – 2 years of industry experience.
- Prior experience with downstream process development, including preparative chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, viral inactivation, viral filtration and high throughput robotic platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with statistical experimental design and data analysis is a plus.
- Understanding of cGMPs as applied to process development and scale up is beneficial.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
