A leading company in wireless infrastructure is seeking a highly motivated and experienced OSP Fiber & Small Cell Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of fiber and small cell construction projects, from initial planning to successful completion.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and identify gaps during site visits for accurate material procurement.
- Conduct regular site visits throughout the project lifecycle (bid walks, pre-construction, progress updates, closeout).
- Provide clear direction and ensure adherence to job specifications for general contractors.
- Manage equipment and material orders for assigned projects.
- Negotiate competitive rates with vendors and ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential project issues to Team Management, Project Managers, and customers.
- Solve problems arising on-site, prioritizing solutions to maintain project timelines and budgets.
- Maintain accurate project data and records in our tracking system.
- Act as an escalation point to address post-closeout concerns with general contractors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in OSP fiber construction (aerial & underground) and small cell deployment.
- Proven expertise in project management methodologies and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of fiber optic cable installation, splicing techniques, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead, collaborate, and influence project stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in project management software and construction cost estimation tools.
- A background in electrical codes and systems is a plus.
