Students in our classes are engaged in active learning. They develop critical thinking skills, the ability to collaborate, and a love of learning. As a faculty, we enjoy each other and a collegial working environment.
Job Responsibilities Include
  • plan and lead lab-based science instruction for students in Fifth and Sixth Grades, focusing on Earth Science and Physics, as well as Life Science, including invertebrates and microorganisms
  • develop assessments, evaluate, and track student progress
  • differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • maintain communication with parents about student progress, including through parent-teacher conferences, report cards, and portfolio conferences
  • plan and lead advisory meetings with a group of 8-12 students, and partner with grade-level co-advisors for advisory curricula
  • chaperone field trips, including possible overnight trips
  • experience with the Responsive Classroom or Developmental Designs approach and project-based curriculum and assessments are a plus
The successful candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in science, education, or related field. Candidates should have an interest in collaborating with a team of teachers, a strong sense of purpose in teaching lifetime skills, an active curiosity about children and their success. Four years of teaching experience is preferred but not required.
