The Human Resources Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office for a food manufacturing facility. The HR Manager is responsible for the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs and may manager responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) including payroll, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, recruiting, and compliance.
1. Directs site recruiting, onboarding, and retention programs, supporting proactive and positive employee engagement.
2. Advises leadership team on managing non-routine situations in addition to providing guidance on HR program, policies, and practices.
3. Develops, documents and provides education to employees on HR programs, company policies, and HR procedures and practices.
4. Ensures production facility compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
5. Investigates employee relations matters providing recommendations to management and helping to bring matters to resolution.
6. Responsible for management of federal leaves, disability plan and claims, and Worker's Compensation program management
7. Provides guidance and support on safety activities and practices
8. Provides oversight of time and attendance tracking for payroll for the location
9. Oversees production facility training programs, development programs and initiatives
10. Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs. Tracks and posts OSHA-required data and files reports.
11. May facilitate company-wide committees which may include wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, culture and communications committees
12. Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.Administers compensation and benefit programs including oversight of 401k and associated compliance. Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Assist employees with any claim issues.
13. Assists with the maintenance of employee training systems to support company training needs including training needs assessment, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact.
14. Assists managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants. Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports.
15. Assists with developing and monitoring the corporate training budget and maintaining training records.
16. Responsible for organizational development initiatives such as succession planning, workforce planning and development, organization design, and change management.
17. May provide leadership for less experienced HR team members.
18. Regular attendance and punctuality required.
19. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5 years Human Resources experience is required; at least 2 years in a supervisory role desired.
· Bachelor's Degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
· Must have excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office and HRIS experience.
· Must demonstrate knowledge in all federal, state, and local employment laws and procedures.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
· PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.
· English/Spanish bilingual required .
