Job Summary and Qualifications

The Admin Director of Rehabilitation Services provides the leadership to effectively grow St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, Round Rock, North Austin, Georgetown acute and outpatient therapy services by ensuring clinical excellence, operating efficiency, and financial strength. This includes leadership in developing a strong rehab team and partnership with the Medical Director and medical staff to ensure the clinical excellence and operational performance of the rehabilitation hospital, acute rehabilitation program, and outpatient rehabilitation program. The Director is also responsible for designing, developing, and implementing a strategic plan to ensure the success of St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital’s clinical, financial, and overall operating performance and successful growth, in addition to guiding locations in the market. The Director directs, administers, and coordinates the overall operations of St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, acute rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy programs, as well as guidance to multiple units, including the goals and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospitals in which the rehabilitation units reside.

  • You will provide day-to-day leadership within the organization, including advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to achieve the clinical and financial goals and objectives of the organization.
  • You will design, develop, and implement a strategic plan that focuses on clinical excellence, financial performance, and market and business development in collaboration with the Rehab Medical Director and manage and directs the rehabilitation hospital, acute therapy, and outpatient therapy program toward the plan's goals. Includes effective measures that raise community awareness of services offered by the programs.
  • You will create and maintain proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems to meet and exceed the clinical and financial goals of the organization included in the strategic plan.
  • You will oversee the adequacy and soundness of the hospital’s financial performance, including reviews of operating results, comparing them to established objectives, and take steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • You will motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract and recruit and retain required members of the team not currently in place and provide mentoring as needed.
  • You will cultivate positive relationships with and maintain an environment of collaboration and cooperation at all levels of the organization, including the Medical Staff and the Hospital executive team.
  • You will positively and professionally represents the hospital with internal and external customers, other shareholders, and the public.
  • You will ensure that all activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, Joint Commission standards, the Hospital Compliance Plan, and all laws governing healthcare operations.
  • You will support the Hospital’s Continuous Quality Improvement Plan and measure the effectiveness on that plan to demonstrate clinical excellence.
  • You will ensure the implementation of Hospital policies and patients’ rights and responsibilities; You will be responsible for establishing and implementing a safe working environment that meets all licensure, regulatory, and accreditation requirements; You will provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operations of the unit, including, but not limited to, measures and effectiveness of achieving operational performance as defined in the strategic plan.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree- Business or healthcare-related field with an administration focus

  • 7 years of experience

St. David's Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas. This 300 bed facility features a 24-hour emergency department, the regions largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the internationally-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute. The full scope of services provided at St. David's Medical Center includes cancer care, heart and vascular care, imaging services, joint replacement and orthopedics, women's services, complex surgical services, and a Bariatric Surgery Center. The facility is home to a 60 bed rehabilitation hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient comprehensive care.
