Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Lead Endoscopy Technician, you will have overall responsibility for a designated endoscopy procedural area. You will ensure all equipment, supplies and instruments are available and operational, as well as organized and accurate. You will train and mentor staff, and act as a preceptor to teach less experienced Technicians.

• You will assist in transferring and positioning patients
• You will ensure all documentation and pre-procedure checklists are complete and accurate
• You will notify the Charge Nurse of any changes in patient status
• You will respond to patient and family needs
• You will handle all linen and equipment needs including cleaning, sterilizing, and stocking
• You will ensure patient safety during transporting as well as in the procedure room
• You will demonstrate an understanding of each procedure and the equipment indicated
• You will demonstrate knowledge of proper specimen collection, handling, labeling, and submitting

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• Four years of experience in Endoscopy or Surgery – preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Surgical Technician – preferred
