Description
St. Elizabeth School is seeking a 7th/8th grade Social Studies teacher for the school year 2024 –
2025.
Qualified candidates possess a passion for Catholic education and a desire to be part of a
faith filled, collaborative team of educators. Applicants must be positive, motivated professionals who
have a genuine enthusiasm for working with children. The teacher fulfills the mission of St. Elizabeth
Catholic Church and School by planning, guiding and evaluating the learning process in accordance
with the school’s mission and philosophy. Teachers demonstrate knowledge of best teaching
practices and establish developmentally appropriate learning environments and lesson plans that
support students intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually.
Requirements
- Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
- Plans for instruction with specific student objectives and sequenced instruction based on the approved curriculum using appropriate materials and resources for students to engage in learning
- Maintains a positive learning environment and sets high standards for behavior within the classroom and building
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and parents to address academic and/or behavioral needs
- Promotes positive relationships and effective communication with all staff, parents and students
- Demonstrates professional work habits by regular attendance, honoring schedules/deadlines, organization and completing assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner
- Actively supervises and provides for the safety, welfare and care of students
- Maintains detailed and accurate records as required by the school
- Serves on committees and performs other duties as directed by the Principal
