Job Overview
St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church is a medium-size congregation (average of 60 in-person & 20 online each Sunday), located in the Deerfield, Illinois. We are a progressive parish that worships in a variety of manners, recognizing that music and the message unites us together as a community and draws our hearts and souls closer to God.

We seek Nursery Workers to provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children of our community during the weekly worship service.

Duties
-Provide age-appropriate care for children ages 0-4 years old, such as:

feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer.

· Maintain a safe environment

· Ensure sign-in sheets are in place and the space is organized and clean.

· Notify the parent via parent(s) cell phone via text in the event of an emergency.

· Straighten the room and clean any toys/crib before leaving. All toys that have had contact with saliva/soil will require sanitizing solution or wipes, which will be available in the nursery.

· Remain until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child’s registration form.

Qualifications
· Experience caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and

interact with a variety of personalities.

· 18 years of age.

· Satisfactory completion of background check.

· Adherence to The Episcopal Diocese of Chicago Child Protection Policy Guidelines, a copy of which will be provided upon employment.

· Three references, 2 of which need to be persons who are familiar with childcare work experience.

· Completion of the Safe Church Safe Communities training within 30 days of starting work.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

Ability to Relocate:
