Description

St. James Catholic School is seeking a candidate for a full time 6th-8th grade science teacher for the 2024-25 school year. Teaching diocesan standards while also incorporating the Project Lead the Way model would be encouraged and supported with funding and professional development.

• Applicants must have a valid teaching certificate
• Candidates should have an active faith life, be current on educational best practices, and have a strong work ethic devoted to creating a positive learning environment for students
• Willingness to collaborate with the 6-8th level team 
• Willing to incorporate technology (Smartboard, Chromebooks) in the classroom curriculum

Requirements

• Perform a variety of duties as assigned by building administration
• Demonstrate professional responsibility in confidentiality, sound judgment, dress, enforcing diocesan and school policies and general behavior.
• Manage inappropriate behavior and set high behavior standards within the classroom and building
• Assess and monitor student progress
• Promote positive relationships and effective communication with all staff, parents, and students
• Prepare and implement effective lessons using the diocesan standards
• Being an active member of a faith community and being a model of the teaching of Jesus.
• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
