This position serves as front line contact for customer interaction both for clinical and financial validation before our patients receive services. They are responsible for the outpatient experience including lobby management, order coordination, scheduling, patient payments, and other general support duties of an outpatient receptionist. 

Job Duties:

• Greet patients/customers in polite, prompt, helpful manner and explain pertinent policies, rights, and consents. Obtains appropriate signatures on all forms applicable to the patient type.
• Admits patients into computer system, enters orders, and routes them to outpatient service departments as appropriate. 
• Collects pre-determined payment due from patient at time of service and posts to patient account.
• Obtain Physician orders, insurance card and a picture ID and scan into the account.
• Schedules Radiology procedures, surgical cases, injections, infusions and pre-operative appointments.
• Ensure appropriate authorization for scheduled test is obtained as needed.
• Communicates information to the patient regarding their required prep instructions.
• Keeps family members updated about patients’ status, condition and delays.
• Backs up registration and scheduling when needed. 
• Performs general office duties such as answering telephones and taking messages. Filing miscellaneous papers.
