St. Jane Frances de Chantal, Pasadena, Maryland, seeks qualified candidates for an Associate Youth Minister. The Associate Youth Minister will be responsible for engaging youth and young adults through new and existing programs. The Associate will work collaboratively with the Pastorate Youth Ministry and Faith Formation staff, and the Pastorate support staff. This position will be a full member of the pastoral staff and will report to the Pastorate's Pastoral Associate/Youth Minister. The position is full-time and is benefits-eligible. St. Jane Frances de Chantal is in Pastorate with Our Lady of the Chesapeake.

Essential Functions

• Implements all Youth Faith Formation areas of ministry for Middle School and High School including Sacramental Preparation, in collaboration with the Pastorate's Youth Faith Formation plans.
• Effectively communicate with families through various means of communication including in-person, phone calls, email, and Flocknote, etc.
• Must be physically present for scheduled class sessions on Sunday mornings and evenings, Monday afternoons, some weekday evenings, and other events as needed.
• Maintain thorough records for all volunteers and students in the program, including registration and attendance, tuition statements, payments, and sacramental records.
• Facilitate recruitment and training of parish catechists and volunteers for areas of Faith Formation and Sacramental ministry.
• Ensure all volunteers (adults and teens) are in compliance with Archdiocesan Child and Youth Protection policies and procedures.
• Assist with Pastorate's ministry for Young Adults (ages 18-35)
• Support the Pastorate's Retreat Programs for Teens and Young Adults
• Help envision ways to engage and form youth through knowing, loving, and serving God
• Help envision the Pastorate's plan for Family Faith Formation

Position Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of youth ministry experience and/or theology-related degree preferred
• Familiarity with Catholic teaching, theology, tradition, and doctrines
• Familiarity with adolescent faith development, engagement, and their social and cultural environment
• Must be a practicing Catholic
• Ability to engage in one-to-one and group dynamics with young people, parents, & Parish Staff
• Strong social media skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google tools
• Ability to maintain proper boundaries with youth and knowledge of Child Protection policies
