Part-Time Assistant Softball Coach - Pitching

Assist the head coach in the planning, organization, and administration of the Softball program with a focus on pitching.

• Adhere to all NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules
• Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes
• Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community
• At all times promote the Softball program in a positive way

• Recruiting

o Athletics software usage to correspond with recruits
o Corresponding via mailings, phone calls, ACS software and emails
o Assist in scheduling and setting up recruit visits
o Attending off campus recruiting events
o Attending high school games and showcase tournaments

• Softball Team Management support

o Assist in practice planning, organization, and on-the-field coaching
o Assist in scouting and game preparations
o Game day duties as determined by Head coach
o Assist in supervising team during away contests
o Assist in the inventory and care of uniforms and team equipment
o Help organize and participate in fund-raising activities

• Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student-athletes (5%)
• Yearly NCAA rules test participation

Bachelor’s degree required. Softball knowledge required and collegiate playing experience desired

Ability to demonstrate softball related skills, especially pitching technique, interpersonal skills between students, staff, alumni and friends of the University.

Well lighted, well ventilated pleasant work area. Work with students and accompany team when traveling.

Must be able to be proficient in word, excel and able to learn other softball related computer programs. Equipment related to sport.

Part-time
Varies depending on time of year and if in-season or out-of-season. Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed to support practices, games, travel and recruiting events.
