Security Officer in Charge

AAS degree in Criminal Justice preferred or combination of experience and education. Minimum of 2 years of experience in security/public safety preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be New York State Security Guard trained and registered. A valid NYS Driver License with minimal convictions.

Must have working knowledge of the security function as well as New York State Penal and Traffic laws and be familiar with approved safety and security standards for college security.

When acting as Supervisor – supervises shift officers, dispatchers, shuttle drivers and student assistants.

Patrols, inspections and investigations require frequent in and out door routines in all types of weather conditions; foot, vehicle and stationary patrols required; possible exposure to hazardous materials, severe weather conditions and physical confrontations with unstable persons and individuals who are violating laws and regulations.

Computer programs to include:

• MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to learn and function within Banner, PremiSys and Report Exec programs

This is a full time C shift position (11PM-7AM) working a 4/2 – 5/2 work-wheel.
This position is 40 hrs. per week and is a
12 month position
