Description

St. John LaLande School is seeking a part time K-5th grade technology teacher for the 2024-25 academic year. Qualified candidates are dedicated, energetic, teaching professionals with at least a bachelor’s degree in elementary or technology education and a valid teaching certificate. You would teach digital citizenship, internet safety, keyboarding, and the Google Suite to students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters
• Plan for instruction based on the approved diocesan standards
• Use appropriate materials and resources for students to engage in learning
• Use effective instructional methods according to professional best practice
• Respond to individual learning needs
• Maintain current and accurate records
• Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom
• Contact parents when necessary for either academic or behavioral concerns
• Conference with parents upon request and respond to messages in a timely manner
• Demonstrate professional work habits by regular attendance, honoring schedules/deadlines, organizing work, and conducting assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning
• Maintain professionalism in dress and hygiene

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

· Knowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation

· Able to manage student behavior in classroom setting

· Able to motivate and engage students in the learning process

· Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

· Skill in pacing and differentiating instruction

· Able to use appropriate technology including computer, smart board, projector, handheld devices, etc.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Education or technology

· Teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement preferred

· Ideal candidate has ISTE certification

· Ideal candidate has 3 years teaching experience minimum
