St. John the Baptist Parish is currently accepting applications for the following unclassified position(s):

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Accounting Manager - JOB FUNCTION: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in accounting activities, calculating, posting, and verifying accounts to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records; provides proper internal controls for the Parish’s financial operations; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer. QUALIFICATIONS: Sufficient experience, education, and training to perform professional accounting and auditing work, and to supervise accounting personnel of a municipal finance department. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications is possession of the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or business administration; 5 years of increasingly responsible in local or governmental accounting; preferably with some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which will provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
