ResponsibilitiesWe are in search of a responsible and compassionate Registered Nurse with top-notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It is equally important to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to educate patients effectively. As a PACU Nurse at SJHMC- Westgate, you will utilize your skills in the recovery room, and it doesn’t end there. Most patients are unaware of the significant role you play in guiding them through their most vulnerable moments. Your commitment to caring for others is deeply appreciated. Call duty is a requirement, based on shift and patient volume.
Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, and prepare patients for various surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Offer a calming presence as you are most likely the first person the patients see post op
- Answer questions and convey important information to patients and family members or caregivers
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures
- Administer medications as directed by physician
- Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
- Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
Minimum:
- One year recent acute care experience
- AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State
- BLS and ACLS required.
Preferred:
BSNProfessional certification in area of specialty
