Saving children.®Job DescriptionWe’re searching for a highly-qualified Territory Principal Advisor (otherwise known as a Chief of Staff) to serve as the right-hand leader to our Territory Vice President (TVP) for the South Territory. Responsible for assisting the territory leader in leading, developing and driving the comprehensive vision, fundraising and growth strategies to secure funding ($500M ) within the South Territory and nationally in alignment with ALSAC’s enterprise strategic plan. Provides leadership to the team to identify, cultivate, solicit/close and steward high wealth donors, corporations, partnerships, individual volunteers, donors and supporters with purpose of growing existing revenue sources and creating new revenue opportunities. Represents the territory leader in cross-divisional team meetings for one of ALSAC’s seven territories.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions
  • Assist the Territory leader in leading strategic teams that annually raise 500M in charitable contributions through a variety of fundraising channels (annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate donations, events, sponsorships, etc.). Monitors, evaluates and adjusts resources to meet territory revenue, goals and KPI's that are aligned to strategic direction.
  • Serves as the assistant chief fundraising strategist for the territory, helping to align the territory strategic goals with fundraising programs including market, area and national campaigns. Collaborates effectively with the vertical teams developing and implementing strategies to ensure that ALSAC drives growth in fundraising, ensuring achievement of territory fiscal goals as efficiently as possible.
  • Develops, mentors and coaches a team of professionals that lead area teams regarding fundraising, administration, procedures/policies, analysis, and communication. Fosters a highly inclusive culture, models the organization’s culture pillars, and demonstrates servant leadership.
  • Supports all offices within the assigned territory in setting territory strategic direction, expectations and performance tracking. Monitors measurable performance metrics and analytics to quantify progress against financial and organizational goals; as well as evaluating fundraising programs, opportunities and efforts efficiency and effectiveness. Reviews and reports the progress of the program performance to CEO, CRO, ELT and SLT Leaders as it relates to the strategic and revenue plans in the Territory leader’s absence.
  • Enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Contributes to the preparation of the territory budget and operates within established budgetary parameters. Utilizes strong problems skills to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others in appropriate style; to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.
  • Maintains a positive relationship and ongoing communication with Board Members, donors, third party organizations and volunteers throughout the assigned territory; represents ALSAC-St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in all areas in such a manner as to reflect positively on the hospital and our fund raising organization.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (master’s preferred).
  • Experience: Eight or more years of fund-raising or relatable experience, including progressive management responsibilities.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent diplomacy skills.
    • Proven ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Comfort interacting with people of high wealth and influence.
    • Knowledge of Community Development best practices and philanthropic communities.
    • Adaptability and ability to handle ambiguity.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to understand complex instructions and execute effectively.
**This is a remote-based position. However, candidates based in Dallas, TX (where the TVP is based) and the other South Territory cities (Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, and Charlotte) are strongly preferred.**
