Job Title: Director of Marketing and Communications
Immediate Supervisor: Chief Development Officer
Employees Supervised: (1) Graphic Designer & Content Manager
(2) Communications Coordinator
FLSA: Exempt
General Description/Position Summary
This is a tremendous opportunity for a mission-driven, collaborative leader, marketing and communications expert, and strategic advisor to have direct impact on positively contributing to the St. Louis Area Foodbank's vision of a nutritionally secure Missouri and Illinois. The Director of Marketing and Communications will help elevate the awareness of and affinity for the work of the St. Louis Area Foodbank in serving the region with its various constituents through the development of messaging, materials, and activities. The Director of Marketing and Communications will serve as Brand Ambassador as well as lead public relations (PR) initiatives both proactively and in response to crisis and will be the primary media liaison for the organization. The Director of Marketing and Communications will be an integral member of the Foodbank's Leadership Team.
The St. Louis Area Foodbank has been growing steadily during the past 10 years and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025. We are seeking to dramatically accelerate our growth, impact, and influence in the communities we serve across 26 counties in the bi-state region (Illinois and Missouri).

At the St. Louis Area Foodbank, we are working to build a stronger bi-state region by nourishing people, empowering communities, and transforming systems. With the dedicated partnership of nearly 600 hunger-relief programs and local agencies - including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and residential programs - we are responding to hunger in communities across 26 counties in Missouri and Illinois by distributing more than 47 million pounds of food every year.
Since opening in 1975, and with the tremendous support and generosity of this community, the St. Louis Area Foodbank has grown to become our region's largest food distribution nonprofit dedicated to feeding those in need. Together, we are feeding people and working to address the root causes of hunger for lasting impact every day.
