The basics of this position:
The Student Affairs Information Processing Systems Specialist serves as the secondary IT professional in Student Affairs. It serves as an additional subject matter expert (SME) for both Financial Aid and Student Banner modules. Serves as the liaise between personnel to modify/enhance/develop components of information systems/software and programs for alignment with current College policies and student data. Assists in the plans, designs, and maintaining of Student information systems documentation and interfaces with these systems. This position is involved in cross-functional user support, training and is responsible for testing, implementing, documenting new technology, and maintaining program integrity. Works closely with the Student Affairs Informational System Lead and Student Affairs Leadership
Team.

Education, experience, and other requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in Financial Aid preferred. Will
consider applicants with an Associate degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a
Financial Aid Office counseling students. The ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner
is a must. Counselors are required to have or obtain the NASFAA credential in Verification by the end of
their probation period. They are required to participate in training sessions and obtain additional
certification and/or credentials that are identified by the District-Wide Director of Financial aid and
Scholarships.
