Job DescriptionAs a Class A or B Driver for St. Louis Composting, you will become an integral part in our process of creating rich compost.

St. Louis Composting serves as the headquarters of our family of companies and eco-service providers. Our team is made up of St. Louis Composting, AgriCycle (St. Louis), Total Organics Recycling (St. Louis), Organics Distribution (St. Louis), and Kansas City Composting (Lee's Summit and Belton).

Founded in 1992 by eco-enthusiast Patrick Geraty, St. Louis Composting is the region's largest compost producer. Together, our nine composting facilities process over 1,000,000 cubic yards of green material annually – more than half of all yard waste generated in St. Louis County. In addition to composting yard trimmings gathered by the area’s major waste haulers, we receive, and compost material collected from landscapers and homeowners. We transport and process over 300 tons of organic food waste each week, keeping our landfills free of this organic debris. What You'll Do:
- Transport materials to various local site locations, retail outlets, and customer addresses. Unloading/loading materials to ensure safety and quality standards are followed.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery, following dispatch instructions meticulously.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, promptly reporting any concerns or issues.
- Operate tractor trailers, tandems, roll-offs, and/or dump trucks with precision and care.
- Adhere to state and federal laws, as well as company policies and DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Potential for occasional out-of-town work - always home on the weekends.
- Language Skills: Able to read and understand English.
- CDL License: Possess a Class A or B CDL in good standing (all states except California) with a current DOT medical card.
- Clean Driving Record: No DUIs, no major violations, and no more than a combo of 3 at-fault accidents or violations in the past 3 years.
- Manual Transmission: Skilled in driving manual transmission trucks (some automatic transmission trucks available).
- Safety Awareness: Prioritizes safety in all aspects of work.
- Weekend Availability: Open to working Saturdays. Mostly available during the busy season mid-February to late June.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/sitting for long periods.
- Adaptability: Follows instructions well and adapts to operational changes.
- Fast-Paced: Thrives in high-volume, fast-paced settings with daily deadlines.
- Team Player: Ready to help wherever necessary, with a strong work ethic.
