St. Louis Country Club is Hiring a F&B Manager Near Saint Louis, MO

St. Louis Country Club, a private country club located in Ladue Missouri, is searching for the right individual to lead our dining services team as a Food & Beverage Manager and to become part of its long tradition of offering superior member service.

The F&B Manager will lead in the oversight of all front of the clubhouse operations including casual dining, formal dining, snack bar, outside spaces, and field bar.

Responsibilities will focus heavily on daily execution of service, including staff training and development. Maintaining the highest dining standards, planning, and execution of functions while providing excellent service to the Club’s membership. The position will also aid the Assistant General Manager and Clubhouse Manager in continued development of the Club’s overall wine and service program to increase member satisfaction.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Present and engaged in overseeing informal and formal dining room service including maintaining a high level of member contact and during events and when necessary.
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and supervising of all dining service staff.
  • Delegates and organizes daily assignments to service team.
  • Coordinates menus, dietary needs, special requests, and timing with the Kitchen.
  • Assists in the development of training standards, steps of services and best practice policy implementation.
  • Receives and handles all complaints concerning events, food, and beverage service.
  • Serves as a liaison between the dining service and kitchen staff.
  • Directs pre-meal meetings with service personnel. Relays any policy changes or operational changes to staff and guides them in any required adjustments.
  • Inspects service employees to ensure that they are always dressed appropriately and in clean uniforms. Ensures adherence to standards and maintenance of uniform appearance and grooming standards.
  • Assists in developing wine lists and beverage programs including tracking wine sales and inventory reviews.
  • Serves as opening and/or closing manager based on the schedule determined by the AGM and Clubhouse Manager.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong positive attitude and willingness to assist members throughout their dining experience.
  • Must be highly visible and possess a confident disposition with a passion for member satisfaction.
  • Candidate must have experience in private clubs, hotels, or fine dining restaurants with both a la carte and banquet dining.
  • Ability to direct a team of supervisors, chefs, servers, and bartenders to provide the best dining experience for our members.
  • Proficient in dining and wine service with the ability to train staff in these same services.
  • Ability to think outside the box and calmly get the job done during challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of computer POS order entry.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for interactions with members, fellow managers, and staff.

Educational Requirements

College Degree involving Hospitality is preferred but not required or a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and most holidays. Position requires the ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, bend stretch, twist to reach and be independently mobile to navigate throughout the clubhouse and outdoor club areas as needed. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and outdoor temperature conditions including noisy environments.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Full time management benefits package including professional development allowance, opportunity for assistance with pursuit of sommelier certification and CMAA membership, with a Bonus plan based on performance.
