Description

 The role of the Gethsemane - Garden Media Lead is to assist the Campus Director and Media Manager with the responsibilities of the media ministry, including audio/video support, TV/video production, worship lighting, equipment acquisitions and maintenance. The Media Lead is responsible for operations at the Gethsemane Church Campus and The Garden Community Center. This position ensures quality media production for the campus and assists with the planning / operation of media for a variety of events. The position includes a combination of supervisory duties, video and audio setups duties, video and audio editing, equipment maintenance, and event / production work. 

Audio Engineering / Sound Systems 

1. Planning and upgrading audio systems for worship and classroom spaces. 

2. Creating and maintaining user friendly audio equipment setups.

3. Cable management.

4. Basic audio equipment repair skills (soldering, terminating cables, etc.).

5. Stage setup, organization and troubleshooting of sound systems.

Audio/Visual Support

6. Operation of live sound reinforcement equipment for various church events including weddings, memorials, and other special events.

7. Ability to execute proper microphone placement, operation of audio boards, and signal processing.

8. Ability to operate and troubleshoot livestreaming equipment, for Sunday mornings and special events.

9. Occasionally assist St Luke’s tech team with on location video/audio needs, for in-house film production. 

10. Keep assisted listening systems and translation devices, throughout the church complex, in proper working order.

11. Check (eSpace) audio/video scheduling software to ensure equipment is ready, delivered, set-up, operated, and torn down in a timely manner. 

12. Assist with processing, editing, and posting of audio and video assets on the church RSS site, Vimeo, YouTube, in addition to the church website, for on-demand acquisition.

13. Connect with event clients to ensure all audio/visual equipment needs are met.

14. Manage / lead Sunday morning A/V set-ups and teams, throughout the complex.

15. Assist with lighting maintenance, including replacement of fixture and projector lamps throughout the campus.

16. Assist with training of volunteers or staff assistants, in areas of audio / video operation.

17. Supervising of over over-hire and contract media personnel.

18. Manage and assist the Media Manager with The Garden Youth Center operations and needs.

Equipment

19. Work to help keep all media equipment accounted for, operational, and organized; so it is easily accessible & ready for use.

20. Help to assess and troubleshoot problems with media equipment as they arise, and report to Media Director.

21. Perform tests and diagnostics to eliminate difficulties with media equipment.

22. Assess ongoing equipment needs with the Media Director.

23. Research equipment and systems that could enhance media support throughout the church.

24. Help plan for new and permanent equipment installations such as sound systems, lighting, video, computer workstations, livestream equipment, and digital signage systems.

25. Help with planning of portable equipment acquisitions, including but not limited to media carts and remote sound systems.

Additional Responsibilities

26. Audio/visual support for outside groups, including the planning, set-up, operation and tear down of audio/video/lighting systems for events of groups that don’t directly support the mission of St. Luke’s.

27. Assist, support, and train interns and Sunday volunteer.

28. Attend staff and worship meetings throughout the week, as well as any planning meetings that would involve media.

29. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

30. Supervision of media staff, volunteers and contractors. 

31. Assisting with over-hire and or media contractors.

Requirements

Education: 

· High school diploma required.

· Bachelor’s degree in media or related field preferred.

Experience:

· Two to four years’ experience in media support or related field, preferred.

Talents: 

· Knowledge of live and recorded audio techniques; audio/visual/computer equipment operations.

· Knowledge of various online media platforms.

· Knowledge of PTZ cameras and other livestream related equipment.

· Knowledge of professional video / film equipment.

· Knowledge of basic theatrical / stage lighting.

· Proficient in Renewed Vision ProPresenter and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and reliably, with an attention to detail and organization

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· Preferred familiarity with Apple’s Logic, Final Cut, Blackmagic and Canon Equipment.
