RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position Supervises Certified Nurse’s Assistant on their assignment each shift. May be in charge if no clinical administrative RN is on or Charge Nurse (RN) is on tour. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints by reporting them via the appropriate chain of command to the Unit Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including basic knowledge of biological, physical, social, and medical science as they relate to nursing, for better understanding of Resident care problems. Thorough knowledge of principles and methods involved in inservice instruction of Nursing and auxiliary personnel, in demonstrating techniques and methods of Resident care services, and in instruction of Residents. Must be familiar with State and Federal Laws, rules and regulations pertaining to nursing care. Must present a neat, well groomed, and professional appearance. Must have a willingness to follow well defined policies, procedures, and nursing practices and ethics. Must have a sincere desire to care for the elderly, be alert to changing conditions of Residents. Must be concise in preparation and passing medications. Will be accurate and thorough in charting in Resident’s medical charts. Must be courteous, considerate and understanding when dealing with Residents, team members and visitors. Ability to work in close cooperation with others.
REQUIRED SKILL, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing and a clear State of Florida LPN License. At least one year of experience as General Nurse in medical/surgical and/or geriatrics area is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current registration (license) with Florida State Board of Nursing and Associates’ degree (A.A.).
