St. Mary of the Annunciation School is seeking a highly-motivated, energetic, creative and caring English Language Arts teacher for our Middle School Academy for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates will create an effective environment for learning; establish and maintain standards of student behavior; provide differentiated instruction; work on a collaborative teamCompetencies:The ideal candidate will have the following skills:- Ability to fully support the mission of the SMA Danvers and the Middle School Academy-Experience in project-based learning opportunities-Utilize Google Apps for Education, Google Classroom and other technology to support and differentiate instruction -Plan, prepare, and deliver developmentally-appropriate instructional activities that maximize active, engaged learning time-Establish and communicate clear learning objectives-Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs-Observe and assess student performance and development, using data to inform future instruction-Encourage and monitor the progress of students, providing individualized and meaningful feedback in a timely manner-Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures-Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs-Remain current with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities-Proficient with basic technology skills- Ability to build and maintain positive rapport with students, staff, and familiesThe ideal candidate will have the following credentials:•Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, from an accredited institution•Current teaching certification•Relevant teaching experiencePersonal Characteristics:The ideal candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:•Exemplify Catholic teachings and values in their lives and in their actions•Self-motivation and energy to continue to improve•Problem-solving and decision-making skills•Organization and planning skills•Flexibility and team player skills•Collegiality and collaboration
