PARISH BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

St. Michael Catholic Church is seeking a Parish Business Administrator who will live out his/her faith and contribute to an environment where Catholic values are taught and modeled.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct the business affairs of the parish in a professional, ethical and organized manner for the betterment of the parish (as delegated by the Pastor)
  • Manage the day to day business operations of the parish and oversee all aspects of the Church relating to finances, personnel, buildings and grounds, planning, and legal concerns
  • Oversee parish business policies/procedures and serve as a resource to staff and volunteers in these areas
  • Management of buildings, grounds and physical resources (including cemeteries)
  • Manage business, communication and legal matters (including technology)
  • Manage Human Resources and personnel responsibilities in compliance with Federal, State, and Church laws and policies
  • Manage long range strategic planning and development
  • Coordinate professional development
  • Present at Finance Council, Parish Pastoral Council, School Advisory Council, and Parish Staff meetings
  • Serve as an active member of the parish staff, working collaboratively to implement the mission of the church and to support the vision of the Pastor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active, participating Catholic in good standing with the Church with extensive and current knowledge of Roman Catholic Doctrine.
  • Post secondary training and education leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline and/or a FCBA (Fellow in Church Business Administration) or equivalent in experience. Additional training in related areas as required.
  • Minimum of three years full-time experience in management. Training and experience in financial management (accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, stewardship, fund-raising), in property management and in marketing. Three years of more experience as a parish administrator strongly preferred.
  • Training and experience in Human Resources/Personnel Management and supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Experience in technology management and familiarity with IBM-related computer programs and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possess oral and written presentation skills.
  • Experience in Strategic Planning and/or project management.
