School Profile

St. Monica Catholic School is a PreK-12 Catholic classical school located on Mercer Island, just east of Seattle, Washington. Our curriculum model, based on the Educational Plan of St. Jerome, immerses students in the beauty of Western civilization and the Catholic intellectual tradition. We are a parish school and bring students into the sacramental and liturgical life of St. Monica Catholic Church. Our high school program was founded as a pilot in 2020 and received archdiocesan approval and accreditation through the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) in 2023.

Ideal Candidate

St. Monica Catholic School is seeking an Admissions and Advancement Director. The director will coordinate our advertising and admissions processes from initial contact with families to enrollment. The ideal candidate will possess experience in nonprofit or business project management, a passion for Catholic and classical education, and a drive to make a significant impact in a growing institution.

Responsibilities

  • Create and distribute advertising content across a variety of print, radio, and digital media
  • Serve as a first point of contact for interested families
  • Manage enrollment workflow database
  • Develop and implement a formal prospective family screening process
  • Coordinate school tours and student shadow experiences
  • Manage content of school website
  • Create and publish weekly school newsletters and occasional parent surveys
  • Lead two annual open house events in collaboration with faculty and administrators
  • Research and implement best practices in school recruitment and admissions, including participation in the Archdiocese of Seattle’s high school admissions working group
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in project management broadly conceived
  • Experience with marketing through either print or digital media channels
  • Familiarity with factors of school and student success and interest in classical education
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form relationships with prospective families and the larger St. Monica community
  • Commitment to the Catholic mission of St. Monica Catholic Church and School
  • Complete Virtus safe environment training and a background check

Physical Requirements:

Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as:

  • Must be able to sit for up to two hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse and typing
  • Must be able to stand for up to two hours in the context of presentations or event planning
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs on a frequent basis

Benefits Information:

  • Salary based upon education and experience. Compensation ranges from $50,000-$75,000
  • Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

  • A comprehensive package of benefits is offered including two medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.
