Description
St. Paul Catholic School has an opening for a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced social studies teacher to join our school community for the 2024-2025 school year for Grades 6-8. As a social studies teacher, you will be required to deliver lessons that develop students' skills. You will also be responsible for assigning homework, grading assignments and quizzes, and documenting students' progress.
To be successful as a social studies teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Our ideal candidate will be able to create a stimulating learning environment that meets the needs of the students.
Requirements
· Organize and direct lessons and activities related to the standards
· Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines
· Provide grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/lessons for elementary grade levels
· Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. Paul Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church
· Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management
· Assess and document student progress
· Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students
· Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
· Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities
· Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
· Integrate technology effectively into the classroom.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from an Accredited College or University
· Current Florida Teaching Certificate / Middle Grades Social Science Grades 5-9 or Secondary Social Science grades 6 -12
